For the Men Who Still Don’t Get It, written 20 years ago by Carol Diehl.
She wrote a post about the history of this poem that is worth reading.
all women were bigger and stronger than you
and thought they were smarter
women were the ones who started wars
too many of your friends had been raped by women wielding giant dildos
and no K-Y Jelly
the state trooper
who pulled you over on the New Jersey Turnpike
was a woman
and carried a gun
the ability to menstruate
was the prerequisite for most high-paying jobs
your attractiveness to women depended
on the size of your penis
every time women saw you
they’d hoot and make jerking motions with their hands
women were always making jokes
about how ugly penises are
and how bad sperm tastes
you had to explain what’s wrong with your car
to big sweaty women with greasy hands
who stared at your crotch
in a garage where you are surrounded
by posters of naked men with hard-ons
men’s magazines featured cover photos
of 14-year-old boys
tucked into the front of their jeans
and articles like:
“How to tell if your wife is unfaithful”
“What your doctor won’t tell you about your prostate”
“The truth about impotence”
the doctor who examined your prostate
was a woman
and called you “Honey”
you had to inhale your boss’s stale cigar breath
as she insisted that sleeping with her
was part of the job
you couldn’t get away because
the company dress code required
you wear shoes
designed to keep you from running
And what if
after all that
women still wanted you
to love them.
is there a Black Friday deal for college tuition or is that not a thing
ever pass somebody that wears the same cologne as someone you miss and it feels like your heart was just rammed by a semi truck
Television is by nature the dominator drug par excellence. Control of content, uniformity of content, repeatability of content make it inevitably a tool of coersion, brainwashing, and manipulation.
People always told me that eyes are important.
I remember in the the third grade when my science teacher was teaching us about eyes. I knew I had two eyes and I could see vividly through them.
My science teacher showed us a picture of a man with a white cane. And another picture of a man with a German Shepherd cautiously holding onto it’s owner by a worn blue strap. Both men had dark shades covering their eyeballs. My mother once told me to look at people’s soul through their eyes. But these men were covering their eyes with black glasses - like if it was a shield that protected them and they were living in the underworld.
This was the first time I embraced my eyes with admiration.
Growing older I considered my eyes to be a planet within my human body. I remember the first time i admired someone from afar. I remember when my mother told me a person’s soul could be looked at with my two eyes. But my mother never taught me that I shouldn’t be quick to judge. Humans are like artwork one sees when they go to art museum. People analyze it and look at it from many aspects. But sometimes people don’t see the rough edges on the framework. Eyes tend to be covered with confusion.
It never crossed my mind that one day I was going to learn that eyes could be wrong. Its’s like our eyes hold a paintbrush and a person is a canvas, and we draw pretty things inside of them. Then, we believe them because a mind doesn’t have a motor.
When I was little I used to admire eyes I used to love them. Now, I think eyes are deadly. Eyes could make the blood inside our veins boil like coffee being embraced by fire on a stove.
I remember when someone once told me that blind people are better at seeing a person’s soul. Blind people fall in love with whats within. They don’t need eyes to look at anything. I used to admire eyes and loved them. But my eyes have dragged me to dreadful situations. I rather have eyes on my heart I wish could carry eyes on my fingertips. Maybe then I’ll have a better sense of life and i wouldn’t be corrupted because of deadly situations. Eyes are a luxury but i rather be blind.
Some women sexualize men’s muscles the way some men sexualize women’s boobs.
SOMEONE SAID IT
Yes, but no one is telling to cover them up because it’s indecent
